Engineering the right environment for a brand built on expertise

In environmental consultancy, trust is earned over years of audits, assessments and monitoring. But today’s prospective clients do their research and shortlisting online, meaning digital presence shapes perception more than ever before. With three decades of experience behind them, Environmental Efficiency needed a brand presence that reflected the scale and maturity of the business they’ve become, while communicating their expertise clearly to online audiences encountering them for the first time. As the business celebrated its thirtieth year, they partnered with Studio East to do that work. Our challenge was not to build their credibility from scratch, but to articulate their value more effectively. The outcome was a refreshed identity, sharper messaging and a website that made Environmental Efficiency’s experience clear from the first interaction.

The Challenge

Evolving Environmental Efficiency’s brand meant protecting the recognition it had built over decades in the market. The updated identity needed to reflect the business as it stands today, while remaining familiar to long-standing clients. New work also had to integrate cleanly into the logic of the existing website. In order to accomplish this, the Studio East team worked within WordPress and Divi environments to lift the UI and improve usability, prioritising areas most likely to influence trust and shape first impressions. Messaging presented its own unique challenges, as the consultancy serves a broad range of clients, from joinery companies to specialist product suppliers. The language needed to communicate what the business does and why it matters, without diluting the technical specificity that gives the consultancy credibility to key sectors and audiences. Above all, Studio East’s priority was to preserve the brand’s hard-earned credibility while helping first-time visitors quickly understand and navigate their service offering.

The Solution

The focus was on evolution rather than reinvention. Every decision was weighed against what was worth keeping and what needed to change, with the aim of moving Environmental Efficiency forward without making it unrecognisable to the clients who had trusted it longest. At the centre of that work was the logo refresh. Built around a segmented radial mark, the identity was designed to reflect optimisation and continuous improvement. The transition from solid geometric forms to finer calibrated lines references the consultancy’s role in refining complex operational processes into clear outcomes. The result is a logo that feels refreshed, yet credible and sector aligned. Alongside the core refresh, Studio East developed a dedicated anniversary logo to mark the business’s thirtieth year, celebrating the milestone without disrupting the wider identity. From there, the wider identity system was defined across logo usage, typography, graphic and UI elements, as well as tone of voice. The consultancy’s service structure and messaging hierarchy were also refined, giving its expertise greater clarity across a varied client base. The refreshed identity was then applied across key areas of the existing website, prioritising the pages and journeys most likely to shape early perception. An SEO audit ran alongside the work, identifying opportunities to strengthen visibility and support longer-term growth.

The Results

The refreshed identity gave Environmental Efficiency a brand that better matched the calibre of the work behind it. The updated mark, messaging hierarchy and guidelines gave the consultancy a coherent system to carry forward across digital and print, bringing structure and consistency to a brand that had evolved organically over 30 years. 

The website and SEO work added a clearer foundation for performance. Focused changes to the highest-impact pages lifted the overall experience without a full rebuild, while the SEO audit highlighted practical opportunities to improve discoverability across key services and sectors. 

Most importantly, the project modernised the brand without weakening the recognition and trust Environmental Efficiency had built over 30 years in the industry. The result is a system designed to support future growth while remaining grounded in the credibility that established the business in the first place.
