The challenge
Renewable products aren’t just trending; they are becoming a priority for homeowners and businesses seeking lower bills and cleaner energy. And while this demand was good for business, it drove a sharp rise in high-value solar product searches which pushed up keyword costs as competitors bid aggressively, reducing visibility across Solarboss’ key campaigns. They needed to optimise both online sales and high-value phone calls, but their existing setup fragmented these signals across low volume campaigns which limited Google’s ability to learn from the data and optimise performance. Our task was clear: drive significant, measurable growth across both channels by improving signal quality, reaching better audiences and building a structure that could scale profitably.

The solution
Our approach focused on two areas that would make the greatest impact. We needed to give Google clearer signals through its automated bidding systems and strengthen the product feed so their campaigns could attract high-quality traffic. Solarboss had several low-volume campaigns, so we consolidated them into one Performance Max structure that gave Google stronger, higher volume signals and enabled more effective optimisation. This unified campaign received both online sales data and call data which allowed Google to optimise for total business value and direct spend towards people who were more likely to convert. We then audited their Shopify product feed and corrected key attributes such as product details, colour and warranty information. Improving these fields increased match quality and led to a clear rise in click through rates which helped the campaign reach more qualified, higher intent audiences and support stronger conversion performance. With accurate data in Google Merchant Centre, shopping placements became more relevant which in turn supported sustainable growth.
